Aeroflot Strengthens Its Market Position
OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2008. Aeroflot presented its actual flight schedule for summer which is valid from 30th March to 25th October 2008, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.
Passengers are offered connections to new destinations, higher flight frequencies as well as even more Codeshare flights with our international partner airlines.
62 international destinations
Aeroflot operates regular flights to 49 countries around the globe, 7 of which are member countries of the CIS (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan).
Of 96 existing Aeroflot destinations, 40 are in Europe, 5 in America, 2 in Africa, 5 in the Middle East and 10 in Asia.
No. 1 in Russia
We continue the successful strategy to strengthen our position in the Russian market and to offer scheduled flights to: Anapa, Astrakhan, Barnaul, Chelyabinsk, Ekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad, Kemerovo, Krasnodar, Kransoyarsk, Magadan, Mineralnye Vody, Nizhnevartovsk, Novosibirsk, Norilsk, Omsk, Perm, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Samara, St. Petersburg, Sotchi, Surgut, Ufa, Vladivostok, Volgograd und Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
More flights to the CIS
Destinations in the CIS will also feature more prominently in our summer schedule. Tbilisi is back again in our network. We now offer flight services to 8 cities in the CIS: Alma-Ata, Baku, Bishkek, Yerevan, Kiev, Simferopol, Tashkent und Tbilisi.
New to summer’s flight schedule
With the addition of two flights a week to the destinations Bratislava (Slovakia), Split (Croatia) und Heraklion (Greece) we increase our flight connections to Europe.
5 destinations with higher flight frequency
To enable our passengers even better travel planning we double the number of flights to Amsterdam, Helsinki and Stockholm (now 14 flights per week) and intensify our connection to Prague with 3 flights daily. From August on we intensify the connection to Beijng with even more scheduled flights.
Additional flights with our Codeshare partners
We will operate codeshare flights to 86 destinations with our partner airlines (to 59 international and 27 Russian cities).
Of course, our passengers are still able to use the large network of prime connection flights offered by the SkyTeam alliance.
Modern airplanes
At the moment our fleet consists of 83 airplanes. Until the end of the year it will be backed up by three brand-new A330 und nine A319/320/321 aircrafts, which to some extent are put into service in summer. The extension of our fleet enables even higher flight frequency on the most requested routes as well as intensified cooperation with our partner airlines.
New with „Aeroflot Cargo“
Our company subsidiary „Aeroflot Cargo“ operates flights to 8 airports worldwide: Hahn, Helsinki, Manchester, Tokyo (Narita), Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Seoul. These flights will operate out under their own code „RCF”.
