Wages at Avdeyevka Coke & Chemical Plant Grew by 25,4%
OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2008. In February 2008 the average wage of workers of Avdeyevka Coke and Chemical Plant (Ukrainian abbreviation AKHZ) amounted to UAH 2,306, which is 34,9% higher compared to the same period of 2007, reported the press-centre of SCM.
Summarizing the results of 2007 the average wage grew by 25,4% to UAH 2,110 compared to the previous year. As for the wage level AKHZ ranks third among the coke and chemical plants in Ukraine. The growth rate of wages is specified by the Labor Collective Agreement concluded between the administration and employees of AKHZ. The actions outlined in the Collective Agreement are carried out at due time and in full volume. AKHZ allocated UAH22 million for the social safety package in 2007 alone.
In 2007 AKHZ allocated UAH11,6 million to implement social projects and programs for the city and citizens of Avdeyevka. In 2007 the share of AKHZ in the local budget was 52,7%.
The company is the key supplier of inexpensive hot water and heating as the public utilities (they are two times cheaper compared to the average tariffs in Donetsk Oblast). AKHZ provides significant support for repairing roads, schools and dwellings. The plant established the Foundation, which provides daily lunches and other meals for children from low-income families of the city as well as for elderly people in Avdeyevka.
In 2007 AKHZ directed UAH 158,1 million to the budgets of all levels, which is 67,8% more than in 2006.
“Responsibility to employees, community and the state is in the core of the social policy of Avdeyevka Coke and Chemical Plant. The volume of AKHZ annual social obligations can be estimated in millions of hryvnias and equals to 20% of the total volume of investments in development of the plant”, said the General Director of OAO “Avdeyevka Coke and Chemical Plant” Gennadiy Vlasov.
