Moscow Plans to Build the Biggest Retail and Entertainment Сomplex
OREANDA-NEWS. On 01 April 2008 was announced, that the city authorities of Moscow plan to build the biggest retail and entertainment complex in Moscow in the southeastern administrative district of the city.
“It will be a unique complex built in the industrial area. Its total area will equal 400,000 square metres and a half of it will be occupied by parking,” Vladimir Malyshkov, head of Department of Consumer Market and Services, said.
According to him, the construction of pure retail complexes isn’t necessary in Moscow now. “It is necessary to build not just retail complexes but the complexes rendering to population the social and personal services,” the official noted.
Mr Malyshkov emphasized that more than 200 companies would be represented in the complex.
“It is also very important that the complex will be located within the city. I want to note specially that a road interchange and parking will be constructed here,” the head of Department of Consumer Market and Services added.
The construction will be carried out on the base of the existent complex called Gorod on 2 Ryazansky Prospekt. It is scheduled to be completed by 2011.
A florist’s hypermarket and a 160-room hotel are to be built by September 2009. The hypermarket called All for House and a cinema are planned to be placed in operation by December 2009. The construction will end with the commissioning of an automobile dealership and a service centre.
The problem of projecting the road interchange is to be solved in half a year to come, whereupon the construction of the complex will be launched.
