TGC-9 Will Provide Reliable Operation During Spring Flood
OREANDA-NEWS. On 01 April 2008 was announced, that all the Branches have established their own Flood Commissions. There has been begun a review and repairs of hydraulic facilities and pump stations. The power engineers are performing works on pitching earth dams, dikes and embankments in the places exposed to washing out.
The Flood Commission has worked out measures on cooperation with regional executive bodies within the period of high water. To go through the spring floods, the Branches enter into necessary agreements with contractors to handle probable accidents. To provide undisturbed and reliable operation at the plants, it is intended to clean roads, approaches to the plants, open dispatch devices, trestle bridges, drain pits, roofings of the buildings and other constructions from snow. They also make up reserves of energy at the boilers and stores of oil for pump refilling; perform preparatory works at mobile water exhaust devices. All the Branches plan to carry out extraordinary personnel guidance and emergency trainings with alert crews. There will be performed the servicing of drain pumps, hydraulic turbine generators; inspection of electrical drives; review and cleaning of the cable channel drainages and storm-water inlets. Emergency teams will also have the necessary guidance. Within the high water period there will be provided around-the-clock service by responsible persons at the Branches.
