OREANDA-NEWS. On 01 April 2008 was announced, that according to activity results for 2007, OJSC "Life Insurance Company "Univarsalna" added 15% of predicted additional investment income in a form of bonuses to its clients. Taking into account the guarantied investment profit, set forth in Article 9 of the Law on Ukraine "On Insurance", total added bonus constitutes 18.2%.

During 2007, gross accrued premiums of "Universalna" life insurance company reached UAH 3,791.4 thou. Number of agreements totaled 3403 pcs.

Amount of insurance claims in 2007 constituted 443, which is the highest index among the life insurers of Ukraine. Total amount of pay-offs made up UAH 599,3 thou, which is by 169% higher if compared with 2006. Among them 255 cases related to expiration of the agreement to the total amount of UAH 495 thou.

Insurance reserves of the company as of January 1, 2008 made up UAH 7,895.4 thou, which were by 45.24% higher if compared to indices fixed in accounting period of 2006 (UAH 5,436.2 thou).

Financial indices

Total amount of company's assets as of January 1, 2008 made up UAH 20,410.1 thou. If compared to the indices of the analogical period of 2006 (UAH 16,362.5 thou), the indices of the company are higher by 24.74%.

The growth of stockholder equity of "Universalna" Life Insurance Company constituted 12.2%. As of January 1, 2008 this index was fixed at the level of UAH 12,417.9 thou.

Statutory fund of the company as of January 1, 2008 made up UAH 11,000.00 thou.

The corporate income for 2007 made up UAH 921.40 thou.

Net income as of January 1, 2008 was UAH 1,349.10 thou.

Network development

Taking into account prospects for the development of life insurance market in Ukraine, starting from 2007 LIC "Universalna" has made for development of its own agency plant. One development front office in Kyiv and one agency in Donetsk have widen a circle of existing agencies, located in Lviv, Vinnytsya, Uzhhorod, Kyiv, and Odesa. Nowadays, LIC "Universalna" embraces over 150 consultants in different cities of Ukraine.

Other activity

The stockholders meeting of OJSC "Life Insurance Company "Universalna" held on December 27, 2007 resolved to enlarge the statutory fund by UAH 4 mln. - from UAH 11 mln to UAH 15 mln. 40 000 shares at par of UAH 100.0 each, to the total of UAH 4 mln.

Additional costs will allow implementing a series of strategic plans in 2008. In particular, the initiative concerns the strengthening of "Universlana’s" importance in the Ukrainian insurance Market.

Bonuses are a part of investment income, the sum insured for which is being increased annually, and which is obligatory for payment together with a sum insured as soon as the insurance case occurs.
