WB to Provide Ukraine Housing Complex with USD 140 mln
OREANDA-NEWS. On April 01, 2008 Ukraine is going to sign with the World Bank an agreement on a credit of USD 140 million, Housing and Utilities Economy Minister Oleksiy Kucherenko told a chat-conference at the Glavred publication.
In his words, this money will be spent on modernization of the cities' water supply infrastructure.
"The demand for investments is dozen of times higher, and the World Bank is confirming preparedness for cooperation with them. Our task is, in the first place, a stable tariff policy and adequate position of cities and their leaders. I believe, we will guarantee this," the minister said.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers provided for reform of the housing and utilities complex UAH 850 million (UAH 5,05 / USD 1).
