OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2008. Seminar on state-supported agricultural risk insurance was held in Ryazan under the auspices of the Ryazan Regional Department of Agriculture and Food Supply and ROSNO’s Ryazan branch, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

Among the seminar participants were representatives of the branches constituting ROSNO’s Central Directorate, as well as heads of agricultural departments, agronomists and economists of the Ryazan Region’s districts. The seminar was opened by the deputy head of the Ryazan Regional Department of Agriculture and Food Supply, in charge for economic issues, Mr. G.E. Nozdrin.

The seminar participants heard the deputy director of ROSNO’s Centre of Comprehensive Financial Risk Insurance Mr. L.L. Golovanov, deputy director of FGU "Rosselkhozcentre" Mr. D.N. Govorov, head of ROSNO’s Ryazan branch Ms. G.V. Chesnakova, representative of Rosselkhozbank Ms. E.Y. Sanarova, head of the Ryazan regional branch of FGU "Rosselkhozcentre" Mr. A.V. Tenyaev, deputy head of the Ryazan regional branch of FGU "Rosselkhozcentre" Ms. L.V. Kochurova.

The seminar participants discussed a number of important issues related to peculiarities of insuring agricultural facilities, and examined the criteria for classification of natural events and weather conditions posing a threat to agricultural production. The seminar participants also reviewed specifics of regional legislation and regulations covering agricultural insurance, and insurance arrangements involving federal and regional budgetary funds.

During the seminar’s practical session, ROSNO employees shared expertise in such fields as loss settlement, calculation of damage, and payment of insurance compensations, and discussed the ways for insurers to improve their performance in agricultural insurance sector. Upon conclusion of the seminar, the participants received officially adopted professional development certificates, while Mr. Leonid Golovanov and Ms. Galina Chesnakova answered numerous questions of the Ryazan journalists with regards to agricultural facilities insurance.
