Bolshaya Leningradka Expands Throughput Capacity
OREANDA-NEWS. On 27 March 2008 was announced, that a road interchange in the area of Sokol station of the Moscow Metro to provide a traffic-light-free flow through all Bolshaya Leningradka is to be built in two years.
When the builders and transport workers of Moscow say “Bolshaya Leningradka”, they mean a route from Sheremetyevo international airport to the Red Square included Tverskaya Street, Leningradsky Prospekt and Leningradsky Highway, a number of squares and interchanges.
“A contract for performing the work on the road interchange near Sokol metro station in 24 months was won by Kosmos research and manufacturing association at an open auction,” an employee of the press service of Moscow City Competition Policy Department said.
According to the source, the company having won the bid offered \\$1.27 billion for the right to build the road interchange at opening bid of \\$1.3 billion.
The company will be able to launch the civil and erection works in three days – the period given by the legislation to make a contract with the city government of Moscow.
Two years are set aside for the first stage of construction of the first launching complex. It embraces the reconstruction of the existent road tunnel along Leningradsky Prospekt, the construction of a road tunnel on the route Leningradsky Prospekt – Volokolamskoe Highway, the closed drive under the metro tunnels during the construction of a road tunnel from Baltiyskaya Street to Alabyana Street and other works.
