Russian Railways Restores Rail Infrastructure in Chechnya
OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2008. The Company invested 3.5 billion roubles in restoring rail transport infrastructure and the social sphere in the Chechen Republic between 2004 and 2007, with 907.2 million roubles being spent in 2004, 978.3 million roubles in 2005, 997.7 million roubles in 2006 and 607.3 million roubles in 2007.
From 2004 to 2007, on the routes Ischerskaya - Gudermes - Khasav-Yurt and Gudermes - Grozny, the Company restored 7 bridges, carried out major track repairs, restored the station yard and access roads at Khankala and part of the station yard at Gudermes and Grozny stations.
Russian Railways also rehabilitated priority sites for wagon, locomotive and freight management at Grozny station, the track and freight yard at Gudermes station and renovated terminal buildings and electricity centralisation posts at more than other 10 stations.
