OREANDA-NEWS. Tatneft was again named a winner of the competition "100 Best Companies in Russia. Ecology and Environmental Management" held from March 22 to 24, 2008 in St. Petersburg.

The company Tatneft reiterated its highest environmental rating, becoming the winner of one of the most prestigious environmental competitions in the country, "One Hundred Best Companies in Russia. Ecology and Environmental Management" for the second time in a row.

The high award of the competition - the Honorary Badge "Ecologist of the Year 2007" has been awarded Shafagat Takhautdinov, General Director of the Company.

The competition organized with the assistance of the Federation Council, State Duma, the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the International Academy of Quality and Marketing, Ecologists Club of Russia, has been held in the framework of the Second All-Russian Conference "Environment and Production. Prospects for development of economic instruments and environmental protection".
 
When determining the winners of the competition the expert council took into account the dynamics criteria of the   investments into environmental activities, parameters of reducing adverse effects on the environment, availability and implementation of environmental programs, systematic environmental work, the scale of organizing environmental activities at the territory of the Company's business activities.

"Tatneft" has already implemented two large-scale environmental programs over the past decade.

At present in the framework of the third environmental program for the period up to 2015 Tatneft continues to pursue an integrated policy in the area of nature protection, industrial safety, health and environment. The company has invested the amount of 28 billion rubles into the environment protection activities from all sources of funding for the years 2000-2007, including 4.7 billion rubles in 2007.

The participation of Tatneft in the competition was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan.
