Belarus-Venezuela Friendship Society to Open New Offices
OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2008. Belarus-Venezuela Friendship Society plans to open its offices in all regions of Belarus, Charge d'affaires Ad Hoc of Venezuela to Belarus Americo Diaz Nunez stated at a meeting with Chairman of the Gomel oblast executive committee Alexander Yakobson.
The ambassador noted that apart from having well-developed trade and economic relations, the two countries have a big potential in cultural cooperation. The support of local authorities is necessary to develop close cooperation in the area of culture in the Belarusian capital and all Belarus’ regions, Mr. Americo Diaz Nunez said.
Alexander Yakobson backed the idea to develop all-round cooperation. “The trade between the Gomel oblast and Venezuela started its development not long ago. Thus, in 2007, Gomel oblast-Venezuela trade totaled \\$3 million. It is not much, but we have good prospects in the field,” the governor said.
Charge d'affaires Ad Hoc of Venezuela to Belarus Americo Diaz Nunez also met with the Belarusian schoolchildren, the participants of the national subject Olympiads in Spanish language, visited the Palace and Park Ensemble of Gomel to talk to the local poets.
Belarus-Venezuela Friendship Society was set up in Minsk on March 27. The society, headed by Anatoly Morozevich, the rector of the Management Academy under the President of the Republic of Belarus, included the representatives of different agencies and organizations, the creative community.
