The Biggest Capacity Container Ship Calls Klaipeda Port
OREANDA-NEWS. On the 27th of March at about 12.00 h the biggest capacity container ship „MSC Veronique“ in the history of Klaipeda port is calling the port.
On the 27th of March at about 12.00 h the biggest capacity container ship „MSC Veronique“ in the history of Klaipeda port is calling the port (the length of the ship is 222 m, beam – 32 m and maximum draught – 11,5 m). The agent of a ship is UAB „MSC Vilnius“and it flies Panama flag.
The ship „MSC Veronique“ will be piloted to the port by SE Klaipeda State Seaport Authority VTS senior pilot Sergej Sychiov, and at about 13.00 h the ship will be moored at the quay No 82 operated by LKAB „Klaipedos Smelte“.
During 35 hours about 700 containers are going to be discharged and loaded on the ship.
Under favourable weather conditions it is planned that container ship „MSC Veronique“ would leave the port in the morning of the 29th of March 2008.
