OREANDA-NEWS. On 27 March 2008 was announced, that according to the preliminary data, gross regional product of Astana exceeded 1.3 trillion KZT. The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said today at the meeting in the capital akimat.

"Astana has approached its anniversary with admirable parameters: according to the preliminary estimates, for the last year gross regional product of Astana exceeded 1.3 trillion KZT that is more than in 2006 by 36 %," the leader of the state said.

According to the leader of the state, in 2007 industrial production grew in the city by 22 % and fixed capital grew by 13 %.

"Highly technological complexes have been constructed in the city: medical, educational, transport-logistical, biotechnological center that "create new intellectual base of the economy of the city and the country," the leader of the state said.
