On 24 March 2008 was announced, that Comstar – United TeleSystems, the leading operator of integrated telecommunication services in Russia and the CIS, had become a general partner at IV annual conference "Fixed Line Communications. Trends and Prospects". The event set up by a business daily Vedomosti will take place on 27 May 2008 in Moscow.

JSC Comstar-UTS traditionally supports the conference. It is a high profile forum dealing with topical issues facing the fixed line market in Russia and is invariably heeded by telecom big-timers.

This year’s conference is going to dwell on regulation implications, growth drivers in wireline sector, and, first of all, new market opportunities created by introduction of broadband Internet access technologies (ADSL, WiMax ect.) and premium fixed line services (IP-TV, CATV etc,). It will also focus on regional and foreign expansion of Russian operators etc.
