OREANDA-NEWS. March 24, 2008. The Avaza national tourist zone is one of the on-going promising economic projects. The latest achievements of tourist and hotel business, the best practice of the seaports and free zones worldwide will be applied there. The level of infrastructure development, the quality and range of services are to meet the high international standards.

The favourable investment climate enables to involve well-known foreign companies, who enjoy the guarantees of the effectiveness of their financial investments, in project activities. The Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan guaranteeing the considerable benefits to foreign investors is of particular importance in the process. Nowadays, Avaza is a world-known brand arousing intense interest among foreign businessmen by the large-scale advertising campaign in the world’s leading mass media and the presentations of the projects with participation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov.

One can easily imagine the look of the future tourism zone even today. The airport in Turkmenbashi city to be reconstructed to gain the international status will be the gateways to the future tourist zone. Turkish Polimeks is to implement the project on reconstruction of the airport.

The first-class highway will connect the new airport and the seaside. The roads leading to the Avaza will be reconstructed. The Farab-Turkmenbashi highway under construction will connect the resort with the littoral city.

The tourist infrastructure will meet the high international standards. The Polimeks Company builds water supply and sewerage systems. A high-capacity desalination unit will supply fresh water to Avaza. After being treated at the waste disposal plants water will be used for watering ‘the green belt’ in the suburbs of the tourist zone. A gas-turbine power station to be constructed there will satisfy the needs of the resort and the region in electric power.

Turkmenistan invests US\\$1 billion in development of the tourism zone infrastructure, it is the investments in the future of the region and the country. The international business community interested in collaborating in the large-scale project and enjoying the considerable benefits are ready to invest billions of US dollars to Avaza.

Of course, any sea resort is famous for its beaches. The wonderful beaches in Avaza, the optimum depth of sea and the hot golden sand predetermined the choice of the place for the future tourism zone. The wonderful wide beach with a footpath along it with the panorama of the sea will stretch along the sea cost. Several beautiful public green plantations will be created amongst the hotel complexes.

The 7-kilometer artificial river with running sea water constructed by Turkish Polimeks and Ichkale will adorn the tourism zone. Pleasure boats will furrow the river with the original bridges thrown across. Restaurants, cafes, sports grounds and footpaths will be constructed on the river banks. The river and lakes will be located in the natural hollows blended well with the local landscape. The lakes will surround the cozy beaches and when the gale will rage throughout the sea tourists can swim in the calm lakes.

There are two modern hotels in Avaza – the high-rise white-marble Serdar and the cozy Avaza Hotel. Both hotels are under reconstruction. The first health-improving centres will welcome the visitors even this year.

The foreign companies, which expressed the readiness to invest in development of the tourist zone started to erect buildings in the allocated lands. Turkish Polimeks, Ichkale and Sehil will erect comfortable high-class cottages, villas and bungalows. Iranian Pars Energy will construct elite cottages and winter garden. The works started on the construction site of a five-star hotel to be built at the request of Russian Itera. A number of the companies offered to build high-rise hotels on the artificial islands in the sea. The Bouygues Company (France) and Engin Group Company (Turkey) started to construct the offices and business center nearby the sea coast.

Several children’s health-improving centers and the entertainment park, the biggest one in the country including various rides, an oceanarium with exotic fish, a planetarium, a dolphinarium. The visitors will have an opportunity to admire the grace of Ahalteke horses. The special platform will be constructed to the north of the hotel complexes. The special area in the park will be miniature Turkmenistan, where everyone can walk on the main square of Ashgabat, see the historical monuments of Merv and other landmarks of the country as well as the world.

There will be several sports grounds for holding the international competitions in the tourism zone. A section of the artificial river under construction is designed for kayak-paddling. Several yacht clubs will be located on the sea coast.

The Avaza tourism zone is under construction becoming real and attractive.
