OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 March 2008 was announced, that JSC Comstar-UTS sent its representatives – Sergey Verbenko, Legal Deputy Director, and Ivan Nikitin, head of MGTS legal department - to attend a Round Table set up to consider the topic "Legislation improvement priorities in the field of info- and telecommunications".

Arranged by RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and aided by International Telecommunications Academy, this Round Table gathered representatives from concerned government authorities, leading telecom companies, industry’s associations, experts from academic institutes.

The participants reviewed evolution forecasts for info-communications in Russia during 2008-2020 and pressing issues regarding improvement of normative legal acts in the sphere of telecommunications, including legal dimension of networks convergence and impact it has on telecom market players; nets inter-working and interconnection, traffic transit; regulation of information provision services (TV, content delivery, mass media) and of information access services (telecom operators); evolution of legislation regarding certification and licensing, accessibility of third party infrastructure, land and real estate to telecom operators wiling to develop their networks; updating terms and definitions in legislation dealing with info- and telecommunications; management of RF Unified Telecommunications Network and its constituent private networks in emergencies and so on.
