OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 March 2008 was announced, that Ilya Mikhalchuk visited Sevmash. On the 9th of March his candidature was nominated by RF president for position of Head of Arkhangelsk Region administration.

Studying situation in region, Ilya Mikhalchuk observed enterprise within the first objects.

It was his first visit. He learnt enterprise history, visited workshops, looked at submarines being built, marine platform "Prirazlomnaya", aircraft carrier of Indian naval Forces, and discussed current problems with Director General Nikolay Kalistratov.

When commenting his visit, Ilya Mikhalchuk mentioned:

"I was greatly surprised by the scale of production. But Sevmash is not only unique; it is town main enterprise, which influences on economics of the whole region. Such enterprise shall have support not only within shipbuilding field but also from the part of the state, and first of all Arkhangelsk region administration. The most important thing is employment, social guarantees and first of all salary. If I get respect as governor, it will be one of the most important problems, which I am going to solve with Sevmash administration".

On the 19th of March candidature of I. Mikhalchuk will be considered by Arkhangelsk regional delegates committee to provide with authorities of Arkhangelsk region administration.
