Natural Gas Use Down in Ukraine
OREANDA-NEWS. March 20, 2008. The consumption of natural gas in Ukraine in 2007 reduced by 5.5% (by 4.1 billion cubic meters) on 2006, to 69.8 billion cubic meters, including by direct consumers 4.7% (3.1 billion cubic meters) to 62.8 billion cubic meters. This information was included in the materials of the Fuel and Energy Ministry, which were prepared for hearings on energy security of Ukraine.
The volume of gas consumption by industrial enterprises and entities with the same status in 2007 totaled 34.2 billion cubic meters, by population 16.5 billion cubic meters, and by heat energy companies by 8.9 billion cubic meters.
NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, according to the Fuel and Energy Ministry, reduced in 2007 gas sale volumes by 33.4% on 2006, to 28 billion cubic meters, including to industrial companies and their status users by 7.8 times to 1.6 billion cubic meters.
