OREANDA-NEWS. On 19 March 2008 was announced, that at the end of 2007, the "Donskoy Tabak" company purchased a new machine for making Superslims cigarettes from the Italian "GD!" company. The machine was delivered from Bologna in shortest time possible, and after customs registration, it was brought to cigarette shop in February 2008.

Now the "GD-Moskva" company experts, workers of cigarette shop chief engineer service and united mounting team are installing the line in working area. The line consists of cigarette machine and packing machine. All options required for making high-quality product will be installed in the production line. Its production capacity makes 7,000 cigarettes per minute. Mounting works were begun on February 14 and will last till beginning of March. Launching of the second Superslims production line is among planned measures of expansion and modernisation of production capacities of the "Donskoy Tabak" company. The measures were described by the executive director Sergey Sapotnitsky:

"In case the market will develop at the same rate, further development of our capacities is not excluded as well. Now we are working seriously on developing the area producing filters for our production. Shifts are to be accorded in the nearest future. We have equipment which works in two shifts and the one working in 3 and 4 shifts. Today we are studying the possibility of the enterprise working in one shift. With new machines introduced, inner rotation will take place. Non-filtered product segment will decrease in the nearest time, and the people who used to work in this cigarette production are to be trained and employed at work on other machines.
Thus we will be trying to increase production volumes not by increased amounts, but by process optimisation. The less number of workers a bigger volume can be produced with, the more attention we can pay to each worker. The company plans to employ a definite number of new workers, but the number will be very small. We will be trying to use inner reserves and put our people to work on more efficient equipment. These company plans are long-term enough, their realisation being scheduled for the following two years."
