OREANDA-NEWS. On 19 March 2008 was announced, that Perm Territory Governor Oleg Chirkunov visited Chusovoy Metallurgical Works (CMW, part of United Metallurgical Company (OMK)).

After visiting the steelmaking facilities and the largest environmental facility – gas purification plant of the duplex shop, the Governor familiarized himself with CMW’s investment program. CMW Managing Director Anatoly Karpov told the Governor about Mill 5000, OMK’s largest investment project which, in particular, involves total renovation of Chusovoy Metallurgical Works.

"Today we are doing our best to make Perm Territory the mainstay of national development. OMK’s investment activities are of critical importance to Perm Territory", said Oleg Chirkunov in his speech. "We believe in your project. This project will provide Perm Territory with innovative, state-of-the-art production facility that will ensure sustainable development both of the town and the Territory". The governor of Perm Territory answered questions of Chusovoy metal-makers and outlined the primary tasks currently tackled by the Territory administration and local authorities.
