OREANDA-NEWS. On 19 March 2008 Southern Telecommunications Company presented a new service in the city of Vladikavkaz, the capital of Northern Ossetia – Alania Republic. Head of the Government of the Northern Ossetia – Alania Republic Nikolay Hlyntsov, General director of "UTK" PJSC Alexander Andreev, heads of the republican ministries and authorities, heads of city and regional administrations, other officials took part in the presentation. The new service was presented by Deputy Director General of "UTK" PJSC - director of the Northern-Ossetia branch Nikolay Khirov.

"UTK renders DiSeL-TV service in six regions of the Southern federal district. IP-TV is a TV of new generation, having new quality and functions, - General director of "UTK" PJSC A. Andreev stated – The main advantages of this "TV from the telephone socket" are high quality of video and audio signals, integration of video services and availability of a wide range of additional services".

Before the commercial operation of the service starts, IP-TV will be working in test mode. First, the citizens of Vladikavkaz will be offered a package of forty TV channels with digital quality of video and audio signals. By the end of the year the number of channels is to be increased to fifty five. It is planned that IP-TV service area will cover the whole territory of the Republic.

The Byazrovs family having five sons has become the first DiSeL-TV subscribers in Vladikavkaz. "UTK" PJSC presented a new TV-set and the equipment for connection of the new service to them.
Within the framework of IP- TV development "Southern Telecommunications Company" PJSC plans to introduce DiSeL-TV service in the Adygeia branch in 2008.
