OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2008. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is constantly working at creating favorable investment climate in Ukraine. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko stated, addressing the first constituent session of the Council of Investors under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

In particular, the Prime Minister told that Government is interested in establishing close cooperation with investors. At that, according to her, the Government’s top priority is the creation of favorable conditions for business in Ukraine, including improvement of the current legislative basis. “We should create equal conditions for business in Ukraine without exceptions and privileges for one or another structures,” Yulia Tymoshenko announced.

The Prime Minister noted that every day the Government undertakes steps aimed at minimizing corruption as well as measures on improving the tax system. “Every system of the power and business’s activity are to develop such transparent procedures which could prevent manual intervention and be comprehensible for every market participant”. Yulia Tymoshenko told that Government had launched a transparent system of sale and lease of land for non-agricultural purpose through auctions.

The Prime Minister also disclosed that transparent procedures for privatization of state ownership are introduced. Yulia Tymoshenko noted that privatization of the Odesa Port Plant would be the first example. The Head of Government promised that in the contest of the mentioned object’s privatization price competition would prevail over corruption.

Yulia Tymoshenko stressed that Government has clear intentions to introduce order in the system of business in Ukraine. “If you think that it is easy and the Government should have a wish only – you are wrong”. According to the Prime Minister, today every Government’s step aimed at ensuring transparency of procedures runs into opposition “the system is showing resistance to any changes”.

The Head of Government believes that the achievement of fundamental changes and overcoming of the present system in relations between power and business is possible only by joining common efforts. “If you have succeeded in your business then I believe that you will develop a system work with the Government,” the Prime Minister stated addressing investors.
