OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2008. CJSC Volga-FEST /Frolov Electric Steel Casting Plant, Volgograd region, ESTAR Group/ increased square blanks production by 5.2% up to 40,000 t over January-February of 2008 on the year-on-year basis, according to the message of ESTAR Group.

In January, 2008, the shipments of finished goods at Volga-FEST to consumers exceeded 21,000 t and in February over 31,000 t was shipped. Steel blanks produced over the 2 months of 2008 at Volga-FEST was shipped for export.

In middle 2007 Frolov Electric Steel Casting Plant joined the ESTAR Group. As of 2007, production of square section blanks at Volga-FEST increased by 12% up to 221,000 t on the year-on-year basis. In late 2007 it was decided to reconstruct the enterprise. The aim is to increase steelmaking up to 480,000 t per year.
