Turkmenistan Expand International Peace, Security and Common Welfare
OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2008. Turkmenistan took another step towards expansion of international co-operation aimed at maintaining peace, security and common welfare.
Supporting the efforts to tackle the urgent problems and modern challenges through the political dialogue and constructive collaboration Turkmenistan stands as an ardent advocate of this process in partnership with the United Nations Organisations, first of all. Thus, our country joined dozens of the UN fundamental conventions and other international documents of the United Nations and other authoritative international organisations.
The number of these documents was replenished. In particular, the special messages of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said that Turkmenistan had joined the International Convention on the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism adopted by the Resolution of the UN General Assembly on April 13, 2005 and the Amendments to the Montreal Protocol on Substances That Deplete the Ozone Layer.
Thus, Turkmenistan demonstrated once more its steadfast adherence to co-operation with the United Nations and solidarity with the international community in strengthening the fundamentals of security in the planet as a crucial condition of the welfare and prosperity of all peoples.
