OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2008. The coke battery №5 has been under extensive repair at the coke workshop of JSC Cocs. It should be mentioned that recovery of 6 heating walls was scheduled for October, 2007, but in the course of repair works it was found out that 12 heating walls and a part of regenerative chambers required repair. The state of the coke battery №5 was deteriorated by the normal tear and wear. The last similar capital repair was performed in 2004. In the course of time, the heating walls were deformed and the furnace lining destroyed. Owing to these defects, the furnaces were under-loaded which threatened by their gradual stoppage. The works on the site were commenced on October 01, 2007. The heating wall repair has been carried out according to the schedule. Regenerator chamber debugging works have been performed in parallel. Completion of the repair works and the furnace commissioning is scheduled for May, 2008.
