OREANDA-NEWS. On 14 March 2008 was announced, that the Izmailovo Congress-Hall  (Moscow) welcomed the Annual Common Session of the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Industry Enterprises of Russia.

The meeting was attended by: Sergey Gordeev, the Adviser of the Department of Industrial Development of the Russian Federation; Anatoly Agupov, the Deputy Head of the Department of Industrial Development of the Moscow Region Government; Valentin Zverev, the President of the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Industry Enterprises of Russia; Felix Liner, the Honorary President of the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Industry Enterprises of Russia; the heads of regional associations and furniture enterprises; specialized mass media.

Having listened to the action reports of the Executive Management and President Council of the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Industry Enterprises of Russia, the delegates declared their work satisfactory. They also elected a new Director General of the Association, Andrei Raduhin. The Action plan of the association for 2008-2009 was unanimously approved. Main business areas of the Association are the same.  They are: information support of its members, working out new state standards and technical regulations for furniture and woodworking industries, protection of Russian manufacturers at the domestic and external markets through customs regulations and exhibition activity.

"Association of Furniture and Woodworking Industry Enterprises of Russia is an active union which will be specially concerned when determining economic politics of the industry. Much depends on your activity when making up the governmental decisions", addressed Sergey Gordeev to the delegates.  "We are actively participating in the work of the governmental commission of forestry enterprises development. The state must get maximum profit from this huge resource - wood. The member enterprises of the Association are engaged into profound wood processing; and the Association must become one of the parts of the state economic management", highlighted Valentin Zverev.

The Session made up a unanimous decision to hold the World Furniture Congress 2009 in Russia. The first presentation of the WFC 2009 will be held on May 15 in the framework of the Euroexpofurniture exhibition, Vlada Antonova, the exhibition Director was quoted saying.

A long cooperation of the Association and MVK International exhibition Company helps the enterprises promote their products and fight infringement production. Their mutual work will be continued in 2008.
