Klaipeda Port Saw the Biggest Tanker in the History
OREANDA-NEWS. On the 12th of March 2008 at about 5 p.m. from AB „Klaipedos nafta“ operated quay No 2 there unmoored the biggest tanker in the history of Klaipeda port „Tour“.
On the 10th of March the biggest tanker in the history of Klaipeda port „Tour“ with the length of 274,47 m, beam – 48,04 m, and maximum draught 17,022 accommodated at the port. The agent of the tanker is UAB „Compass Transit“ and the tanker flies Malta flag.
The tanker „Tour“ was piloted by the VTS chief pilot – instructor of SE Klaipeda State Seaport Authority Vytautas Grigeliunas and 1st class pilot Rimvydas Eitutis and moored at AB „Klaipedos nafta“ quay No 2. During 42 h, 90 600 tons of mazut oil was loaded and it reached the draught of 12,3 m.
On the 12th of March 2008 at about 6 p.m. the tanker „Tour“ was successfully piloted out of the port by the above-mentioned pilots of SE KSSA and on VTS tower they were headed by the Harbour Master Viktoras Lukoshevichius.
