OREANDA-NEWS. March 12, 2008. Sintering machine No. 6 is to be shut down for capital repair, during which all the worn out parts are to be replaced.

Taking into consideration the fact that capital repair of this sintering machine was carried out 10 years ago, it is planned to replace the mixing drum, the drives of the head, loading and tail parts of the machine, the troughs, sintering plant returns cooling drums and also the conveyor, the charge bunker, exhausters and other mechanisms.

The workers of the repair shops are those responsible for the main preparation jobs required during capital repair. As the Works’ deputy chief mechanic, Andrey Dzyuba, stated, a task has been set before the executors to provide the repair personnel with all the necessary parts and metal structures.

The founders have to cast 13.3 tons of iron castings, 1.7 tons of nonferrous castings and 71 tons of steel castings. Specialists of the metal structure shop and metallurgical equipment repair shop No.2 are to prepare 335 tons of metal structures. The mechanical shop blacksmiths are to hammer into shape 14 tons of forged pieces. Most of the spare parts will be prepared in this shop.

During capital repair special attention will be paid to the problems of ecology. New gas cleaning equipment will be installed in the complex of the sintering machine, which will permit to catch maximum pollutant emissions.
