OREANDA-NEWS.  On 11th March 2008, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case against "Ruspolimet" OJSC for violating Clause 1 Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (abusing dominant position and fixing and maintaining monopolistically high goods prices).

The case was initiated upon a petition of the "Salyut" Moscow Machine-Building Plant" Federal State Unitary Enterprise.

"Ruspolimet" OJSC violated the antimonopoly legislation by fixing monopolistically high prices in January 2006 - October 2007 for the ring blanks made from the EP708-vd nickel-containing alloy, used for manufacturing the aircraft engines. The qualities of the ring blanks (chemical composition, physical-and-mechanical characteristics, durability and welding conditions) made them unique goods for manufacturing aircrafts engines, which cannot be substituted.
