OREANDA-NEWS. On 07 March 2008 was announced, that the 3rd annual Atlantic City Beer Festival was held Mach 8-9, 2008 in the Atlantic City Convention Center in the State of New Jersey, USA. Baltika Breweries took part in the festival for the second time together with its exclusive importer for the East Coast of the USA, Doyna Ltd.

Baltika Breweries has been delivering beer to the USA since 2000. The shipments include more than 20 SKUs: the entire line-up of the Baltika brand, as well as Arsenalnoye and Zhigulevskoye. Baltika is the leader in sales, accounting for 90% of the sales volume in the USA, of which 30% is represented by the Baltika №9 variety, after which come Baltika №7 Export beer, Baltika №3 Classic beer and Baltika Cooler. Average beer consumption in the USA is 79 litres per year. At the end of 2007, Baltika Breweries had sold 170,000 decalitres in the USA, a rise of 7%.

The Atlantic City Beer Festival is known on the East Coast as a celebration of beer. Last year more than 50 breweries presented 250 varieties of the foamy beverage and 9,000 people came to sample it. This year the organisers of the festival expect a greater number of participants- more than 80 breweries and up to 12,000 visitors. Concert areas have been set aside for musicians: visitors will be able to sample beer and enjoy live music.

Sales Manager in America Elena Volgusheva gives her assessment as follows: ‘This venue began as a small local event but is now very significant for everyone who imports beer into the USA and is focused on sales along the East Coast. The festival brings together not only beer lovers and connoisseurs but experts in the brewing sector as well. People who are looking for an alternative to traditional lager will find diversity here. It’s a rare company promoting beer on the USA market which would miss this event.’
