OREANDA-NEWS. March 11, 2008. On the eve of the Shevchenko days, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Vasiunyk paid a working visit to the Shevchenko National Reserve in Kaniv, Cherkasy region, the Cabinet of Ministers' press service reported.

The Vice Premier got familiar with the course of reconstruction of the reserve facilities, particularly, the House of Taras, the monument to Ivan Pidkova, the Taras Alley and Assumption Cathedral. Vasiunyk said this year the Government extended from the national budget for reconstruction of the reserve almost eight times more funds than last year - UAH 25 million against UAH 2.8 million in 2007.
