OREANDA-NEWS. March 7, 2008. Ashkhabad hosts a large international meeting - the 2nd Preparatory Conference of the 16th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum, which will be held in Prague this May.

The delegations from almost 30 OSCE member states arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in the representative meeting organised by the Government of Turkmenistan and the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe. The specialists of the interested ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, the heads and officials of the diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan and the large international organisations, the journalists participate in the meeting.

Greeting the participants on behalf of the initiator of the meeting President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Vice Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov put emphasis on significance of the Preparatory Conference called upon to design the specific recommendations for the effective work of the Forum in such important fields as regional ecological resources management, enhancement of environmental security and protection in the OSCE member states.
