Rizhsky Railway Station Will Get 735,000 sq m of Premises
OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 March 2008 was announced, that 735,000 square metres of residential and non-residential premises are set to be built in the area of Rizhsky Railway Station in Moscow. It was declared by Konstantin Korolevsky, first deputy head of Department of City-Planning Policy, Development and Reconstruction of Moscow, at a session of the city government of Moscow on March 4.
“The reconstruction of the area of Rizhsky Railway Station will be set in the plan. At the same time a part of the railway station area amounted to 92 hectares will be allocated for residential and non-residential developments. However, the railway station itself will be preserved,” Mr Korolevsky said.
According to him, currently the city authorities are also evaluating a design of the biggest in Russia exhibition complex with the area of more than a million square metres in the territory of Serp I Molot plant located in east Moscow.
Besides, the official added that a pilot project concerning the construction of trunk roads over the railway beds was planned to be developed by the end of 2008.
“The railway directions to Tula, Nizhny Novgorod and Yaroslavl as well as a part of the Filyovskaya line of the Moscow Metro running in the street are at issue now. We plan to elaborate one of the variants as a pilot project,” Mr Korolevsky concluded.
