OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 March 2008 was announced, that the builders of Moscow are to launch the repair-and-restore work in the complex of the secondary special music school named after the Gnessins in central Moscow.

Due to the federal law No 73-F3, 25.06.2007 that forbids the new development on the areas of the architectural heritage of Russia, the construction of a new building for primary school was excluded from the project. At the same time the residents of the house on 2/12 Krestovozdvizhensky Pereulok, bldg 4, included in the school complex were moved out. The resettlement was done by the residents’ approbation on mutually acceptable conditions.

In connection with the changes made, the construction is scheduled to be completed by 2009.

By the beginning of March the structures above and beyond ground level of the main building of the complex on Znamenka Street were reinforced with a view to prevent a crash. A geodesic monitoring of the building is carried out every month.
