Kazakhstan Will Construct Three Large Energy Stations
OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 March 2008 was announced, that the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov charged to consider constructions of three large energy stations: Balhash Thermo Electric Station, the third block of Ekibastuz state district power station and Moynak Hydroelectric power station at the government session.
According to the chairman of Samruk board Kanat Bozumbayev, the terms of construction of the first module of Balhash TES - 2008 - 2013. The estimated cost of construction of the first module - US$ 2.5 billion, capacity - 660 МВт.
The second module is supposed to be constructed in - 2011 - 2016, cost of construction of the second module - US$ 2 billion, capacity - 660 МВт. The term of payback of the project - 28 years.
K. Bozumbayev noted that the preliminary negotiations with the potential contractors, among which are the companies from the USA, Turkey, Greece and Korea have been held. "All the companies have expressed big interest in participation in realization of the project," he said.
The state share in this project can make 25 - 50 %, or up to US$ 1 billion 125 million.
