FlyLAL Jumped through February‘s Decline
OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 March 2008 was announced, that february, considered the worst month in aviation according to the passengers‘ numbers, this year has been very successful for the Lithuanian company “FlyLAL-Lithuanian Airlines“. When passenger numbers in other airline companies have dropped compared to January, the numbers of the Lithuanian airline have stayed stable.
42500 passengers travelled with “FlyLAL- Lithuanian airlines“ flights in January and February.
„February is usually one of the saddest months in aviation companies‘ calendars: such is a tradition of travelling. However, the results we have achieved are an evidence that the strategy we have created and are implementing of offering more comfortable routes, better service and guaranteeing punctual flights is correct. That is the reason why the number of passengers stays stable“, - said “FlyLAL– Lithuanian Airlines“ director-general Tadas Puksta.
According to the general, the ending winter flights season has been successful for “FlyLAL– Lithuanian Airlines“: the company has expanded the geography of regular flights in the South European directions: new routes to Malaga, Rome, Lyon and Innsbruck have been started.
Moreover, the Lithuanian company has offered new services to travellers this season: a possibility to buy tickets via internet and pay via internet with a direct connection to electronic banking systems from www.flylal.com.
More comfort has been provided for travellers by constantly renewed planes: „Boeing“ and „SAAB“ types of planes fly from Vilnius.
„One of the most important criteria of aviation, evaluated by travellers, is the airline‘s capability to keep to the flight schedule. “FlyLAL – Lithuanian Airlines“, owning a strong technical base, guarantees the punctuality of flights. This has been appreciated even by the foreign countries‘ airports, which have named us the most punctual airline. For our travellers this means a possibility to plan their time withough having to consider flights being late or even canceled“, - T.Puksta listed the reasons of the success.
Airline company “FlyLAL – Lithuanian Airlines“ has made a goal to reach the leader‘s position in Lithuanian aviation market in 2008 and it plans to become the fastest growing airline company in the Baltics. The company plans to grow double this year. The company has declared it is going to invest almost 0,5 milliard LTL and expects to carry up to million passengers.
