OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 March 2008 was announced, that the Association of European Businesses in Russia organized this introductory meeting with Mr. Mandelson in order to address vital topics for EU-Russian relations.

Joerg Bongartz, Chairman of the Board of Deutsche Bank Ltd. and Head of AEB's banking committee, took part in the meeting. Mr. Bongartz gave an outlook on the development of the Russian financial market. In his briefing remarks, he also touched upon the influence of the global financial turmoil on the Russian market as well as the necessity of having a solid legal framework for derivatives. He also addressed the favourable political and macro-economic environment while advocating Russia's WTO accession.
