OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 March 2008 was announced, that despite bad weather conditions, rain and snow mixed, strong wind on the day of presidential elections of the Russian Federation on March 2, the power system of the companies of IDGC of Centre functioned stably, and powermen provided reliable power supply.

Trouble free operation of the electricity supply networks was fixed in all polling districts in 11 regions of the Russian Federation and public organisations related to elections procedures. Powermen were well-prepared for bad weather conditions that day. After reception of the operational meteorological information, IDGC of Centre organised a headquarters where the information on power supply condition of 11 areas of the Russian Federation was hourly gathered and processed. Round-the-clock watch was organised, as well as additional repair brigades and special equipment were mobilised.

It should be noted that in February DGC experts held a number of preparatory measures on maintenance of power supply reliability on the Day of Elections.

 First of all, the list of the polling districts connected to networks of the companies was composed, and the schedule of their electricity supply was checked up. There took place an unscheduled check of all socially important facilities, first of all, electric equipment of television and radio broadcasting centers. For the period of elections, repair works were stopped, and the schedule of power supply was brought to a normal condition that is the condition of maximum reliability. Elections took place! Now we can say with confidence that they passed successfully, including owing to reliable work of powermen!
