Pilsen Steel Appoints New CEO
OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 March 2008 Pilsen Steel s.r.o., a part of OMZ OJSC, announced the appointment of Martin Novak as the company’s CEO. The appointment took place on 1 March 2008.
Born in March 1967, Mr. Novak graduated from the Mining and Metallurgical Institute, Ostrava, with a specialty in metallurgy. From 1988 till1991 he worked as a foundry shop foreman and later as chief of production for the POLDI Company, located in Kladno, Czech Republic. In 1994, Mr. Novak was appointed chief of production at Lhoist (Belgium). In 2000 he joined Burwitz (Czech Republic) as chief of production. Later he was appointed the company’s Executive Director. In 2004 Mr. Noval joined Pilsen Steel (previously Skoda Steel) as Chief of the Steel Division (later Steel & Castings Division). In 2007 he was appointed the company’s Executive Director and was elected a Member of the company’s Management Board.
