OREANDA-NEWS. March 04, 2008. CJSC Transmashholding member companies raised sales by 19,9% in 2007, reported the press-centre of Transmashholding.

According to on-line data, the products and services’ sales totaled around 66 billion rubles ($2,7 billion) last year.

Like previous years, the sales increase was recorded in all Transmashholding key product lines.
Locomotive-driven passenger coaches were up 17% (934 against 799), metro cars 12 % (249 against 223), electric train cars 10 % (630 against 571), and locomotives of various kinds 11% (455 against 409 sections). The company repaired and sold 10% more various diesels (480 against 435).

Last year, the Transmashholding group paid 7,3 billion rubles ($0,3 billion) in taxes.

The range of products delivered to the holding customers was significantly widened. Three-section main line freight electric locomotives, 3ES5K, one-section E5K, new modifications of EP1M and EP1P passenger AC locomotives, and 2TE70 main line freight diesel locomotives were all launched into batch production in 2007.

Rolling stock, which is new-class for Russia, namely 2TE25K main line freight diesel locomotive, EP2K passenger DC locomotive, and cement rail car designated 19-3018 were completely tested. RA-2 rail buses with smooth body were launched into production.

The company corporate structure was considerably changed last year. Transmashholding was consolidated with control stock of all largest companies now transferred onto its books.

Transmashholding also reinforced cooperation with its key partner JSC RZD. In 2007, for the first time for RZD, the two companies signed long-time contracts for development, production and shipment of new machinery. Last December, JSC RZD purchased blocking stake in The Breakers Investments BV, the only shareholder of JSC Transmashholding.

Transmashholding concluded crucial cooperation agreements with top foreign companies, such as Bombardier Transportation and Alstom. Two joint ventures for development and production of up-to-date components for rolling stock were set by Transmashholding and Bombardier. The Bryansk Engineering Plant, which is also a Transmashholding member, concluded a license agreement with Wartsila for production of advanced low-rate marine diesels.

In 2007, development of a base platform for Russian new-generation locomotives started. A project of a new double-system electric passenger locomotive EP20 was developed to lay the basis for a new family of various-purpose locomotives.
