OREANDA-NEWS. On February 29, 2008 Alliance Bank has announced that Mr. Pontier has been appointed as the Revolving Cards Project Manager in Alliance Bank. Before the new appointment, Mr. Pontier held a post of Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Alliance Bank on direct marketing and revolving products, reported the press-centre of Alliance Bank.

In his new position, Mr. Pontier will be in charge of introducing revolving credit cards, which is one of the most promising directions of the Bank’s core business: personal consumer lending. Revolving credit cards or cards with revolving credit limits are the Bank’s new strategic product and logical continuation of the Bank’ core business.

A recognized foreign expert in consumer lending, 32-year old Pierre Pontier has 11 years of experience working in direct and retail marketing, project management and information technologies in France, Italy, Thailand. Prior to coming to Alliance Bank, Mr. Pontier worked in Cofinoga Company, a specialized branch of Cetelem that is itself an affiliate of BNP Paribas, one of the largest banks in Europe.

According to the Chairman of the Board of Alliance Bank, Dauren Kereybayev, Pierre Pontier’s extended experience in revolving credit cards marketing will facilitate successful implementation of the revolving credit cards project in accordance with the best world standards and practices.

As previously announced, the Bank has changed the consumer lending model in order to maintain a high level of liquidity, loan portfolio quality, and profitability. On January 15, 2008, Alliance Bank launched a new lending project based on direct marketing and revolving credit cards. The cards will be issued to the Bank’s existing customers that have good track record. These customers will be selected from the Bank’s database of over 2 million customers.
