Belarus Improves Procedure of Providing Real Estate Services
OREANDA-NEWS. February 29, 2008. President Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 140 “On Bringing Additions and Amendments to Some Decrees of the President of the Republic of Belarus”, reported the Official website http://president.gov.by.
This document aims at improving the procedure of providing real estate services, expanding the scope of government regulation and tightening government control in the real estate sector.
In recognition of the necessity to establish a transparent system of payment for real estate services, which would be accessible and intelligible for customers, the President, by his Decree, brought amendments to Decree No. 19 on 19 May 1999 “On Some Measures to Stabilise Prices (Tariffs) in the Republic of Belarus”.
With a view to countering violations of the effective legislation and abuses of power when identifying the amounts of payments for real state services, the Decree entitles the Council of Ministers to establish prices (tariffs) on real estate services.
The Decree is expected to improve the protection of rights and interests of citizens while applying for services of real estate agencies, and will help in preventing and countering violations of the effective legislation in this sector.
