MVK Calligraphic Exhibition Team Visited Saint Petersburg
OREANDA-NEWS. On 04 March 2008 was announced, that the MVK team of the International calligraphic exhibition, including Valery Pilchin, Lyudmila Kulanina and project coordinator, Maria Makeeva, visited St Petersburg.
The main purpose of the visit was to determine the possible venue of the Calligraphic Exhibition which will be held in St Petersburg on September 16-21, 2008. The team has examined about ten potential exhibition grounds, among which there were art schools, museums and palaces. Among them are Russian Academy of Arts and St Petersburg Repin State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.
The representatives of MVK held negotiations with the Principle of the University, Honored Artist of Russia, member of Russian Academy of Arts, Albert Charkin and Director of Research and Development Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts, Yury Khvatov. Albert Charkin stated that “the youths must be disciplined through the beauty of handwriting”. Both representatives of the Academy of Arts highlighted social importance of the project, expressed their hope for meeting soon and took a group photo with MVK team.
