OREANDA-NEWS. March 4, 2008. With the view to implement the decisions adopted at the XX Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan on the efficient and effective use of land resources as well as with due regard to the amendments and additions introduced to the Land Code of Turkmenistan the President of Turkmenistan issued the special Resolution.

The Resolution approves the membership of the State Land Use Commission; the procedure of preparing, registering and issuing the documents for transfer of land in the ownership, use and land tenure; the rate of the supply of land to transfer land in the ownership to citizens of Turkmenistan for small holding (mellek) in rural areas and construction of private apartment houses in towns and settlements. The document authorizes the velayat and etrap khyakimliks to allocate land from the special supply of land and empty territories within the bounds of the localities for the abovementioned purposes in accordance with established procedure. The relevant provisions of the previous Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan shall be expired.
