OREANDA-NEWS. March 03, 2008. This year, the Company plans to spend 24,6 billion roubles on purchasing more than 17,000 units of rolling stock, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

The state-owned company UralWagonZavod and Promtraktor-Wagon, which is part of the group Tractor Plants, will make and deliver open-box cars, while the Armavir Heavy Machinery Factory will produce covered wagons for Russian Railways.

In 2007, Russian Railways bought more than 16,000 units of freight rolling stock.
