OREANDA-NEWS. On February 26, 2008 the Economy Ministry predicted the February inflation level lower, compared to January's, First Deputy Economy Minister Anatoliy Maksiuta said, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.

According to him, the government works toward slashed inflation.

Maksiuta stressed that Tymoshenko's Government has inherited high inflation from the previous government.

The government has recently considered a number of preventive anti-inflation measures, he said.
Maksiuta also admitted to importance of national production.

January inflation totaled 2,9%.

The 2007's inflation totaled 16,6%, the State Committee of Statistics said.
