Russian Post General Director Became Laureate of International Award
OREANDA-NEWS. February 28, 2008. “Person of Year” held in Grand Kremlin Palace called the names of the most important public figures in Russia who determines the future of the country. The Kremlin Palace saw a lot of politicians, businessmen, heads of major companies, representatives of culture and sport. “Person of Year-2007” Expert Council awarded A.I. Kazmin, Russian Post General Director in the nomination “Banker of Year”, reported the press-centre of Russian Post.
Outstanding state and public men, representatives of Russian business-elite became the laureates of the award. Grand-Prix awards were honoured to Russian Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov and representatives of Russian business world. O. Betin, Head of Administration of Tambov region was awarded in the nomination regional leader, S. Lavrov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the RF was declared the person in the state management system and for efforts to strengthen country’s position in the world. I. Kobzon, People’s Artist of USSR, Deputy of State Duma got the award in culture sphere. T. Tarasova, Russian figure-skating team coach was awarded as the person of year in sport.
А. Zhukov, Deputy Prime Minister of RF, A. Ivanov, Chairman of the Supreme Arbitration Court of the RF, I. Makarov, Chairman of Management Board of ITERA, Y. Roslyak, First Deputy of Mayor of Moscow, V. Pligin, Deputy of State and other were among other 17 laureates in special nominations.

“Person of Year” was established in 2001 to award people who actively participate in the life of the country. The project aims at attracting attention of Russian society to people who set country’s development trends and their activities to unify society, develop business and integrate Russia in information and economic world society.
“Person of Year” is the only non-state award held in Kremlin Palace. Expert Council consists of leading specialists in the spheres of the main nominations or relevant, immense public persons, representatives of state administration, heads of leading Russian companies, mass media representatives. Members of the Council define the laureates.
