OREANDA-NEWS. On 28 February 2008 was announced, that Stirol had launched into operation a new cogeneration gas turbine power station with 25 MW of capacity. The station can simultaneously produce high pressure hot steam and electricity and is 94% fuel efficient.

$8 mln in costs will be saved by YE2008 from the introduction of the new station. Stirol is conducting a timely modernization and cost-saving program to prepare for further natural gas price hikes and remains the undisputable industry leader in this regard. The facilities upgrade should be completed by YE2009 making Stirol one of the most efficient nitrogen fertilizer producers in Ukraine and also Europe.
