OREANDA-NEWS. February 25, 2008. The Sea Launch Corporation intends to launch telecommunications satellite DIRECTV 11 with the use of the Ukraine - Russian Zenith 3SL rocket in March, the company reported.

The almost six-ton device is destined for transmission of high-resolution TV programs to the US.
Taking part in the Sea Launch project are also Ukraine's scientific production associations Pivdenne and Pivdenmash, the US Boeing company, space missile corporation Energy (Russia), and Norway's Kvaerner ASA Company.

In 2008, it is planned to make up to five launches of the Ukrainian - Russian Zenith 3SL carrier rocket within the framework of the Sea Launch project.
