OREANDA-NEWS. February 25, 2008. France will help Ukraine to liquidate the industrial waste tailings storage "Spirne" in Dniprodzerzhynsk (Dnipropetrovsk region, East Ukraine), reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.

The waste storage with high radiation background was revealed in Dniprodzerzhynsk in a residential area near an industrial area. No industrial enterprise has accepted the storage's ownership.

The municipal ecology department is now preparing a detailed documentation and proposals for the State Committee on Nuclear Regulation and French investors. The financial assistance is worth of some EUR 2-3 million.
